Microneedling, otherwise known as collagen induction therapy, creates micro-trauma to the superficial dermal layers of the skin, encouraging fibroblast activity. Fibroblasts activate white blood cells to repair the micro-trauma, enhancing Type 1 collagen and promoting elastin production.
